
I am having troubles understanding what I need to update and what I need to update for GP 2010. This is for 2013 year end payroll/tax. I'm still new at this. I'm reading the blogs, posts, and other items with dynamics.com. I am highly confused as to what needs to be updated for the year end 2013 Payroll and tax.
What I'm getting confused on is, do I need to year end release for GP 2010, then do the tax update? Or can you just do the tax update and do the year end release later after all is said and done? Below are the links in question. Any help is greatly appreciated. I have no real start point or someone to reference to really get the answers.

1) You must update Payroll Year End and Tax Update after you run last payroll for 2013 and before you run first Payroll for 2014- Otherwise new Payroll won't get recent Tax and Old Payroll w-2 information won't print it in new format if there is any changes. Please read documentation what is changes in Year End updates.
2) support.microsoft.com/.../850663 follow this KB strictly you need to run some procedure i.e. 'Create Year-End file' etc. Please follow this KB.
