As I've read online using GDPR consent levels is only a recommendation. Thus, can we disable this field and use Contact preferences to base Segments, mailings and AI functionalities?

In addition, is Consent given field changed only manually or by the contact and can we automate this field based on contact preferences fields?

    Hi,

    Depending on the consent level the insights is not recorded/tracked by the marketing app. Doc: Overview of GDPR features in Dynamics 365 Marketing
     
    The customer end goal is to block behavior tracking, the contacts should be able to receive email but the system wont save insights about them.
     
    The consent levels don't act on tracking only on marketing emails deliverability.
     
    To give the contact the choice to allow or not the tracking the need to add the field to their subscription center.
