Dynamics 365 CRM (online) Single Tenant Multi-Instances Azure AD licensed CRM User not synced in all instances.

Hi,

I'm hoping someone can help me out with my issue.  I have a support ticket open, but in the meantime thought I would ask here for some input.

As the subject says, I support Dynamics CRM 365 online.  It's a single tenant, with multiple instances (prod, QA, dev, etc.).  We also use Azure Active Directory.

My sys admin created a user in Azure AD, and added the Dynamics CRM online license to the user. This was done on 6/29/18.  At the time the user was only showing up in our crm we use for production.  I was told it could take awhile to propagate to the others, but at the end of the day, that user then was showing up in all the but one organizations/instances.  Our DEV setup, the only one I really needed.  I have had the user setup reviewed over and over, I see no sync logs when I check the system health.  I even see the user when I search from the 365 admin portal.

Right now there are no security groups listed on the instances to filter out users, so I can't find any reason why the user didn't get replicated or even show in the list of users in that one instance.

I am fairly new to both CRM online and Azure AD, so I'm hoping I provided enough information and someone is able to provide some insight.  If I just need to have that user deleted and create a new one, I certainly can.  I'd just like to know what caused this.

thanks for reading :-)

Ryan

If the version matters, it's Dynamics 365 ver. 8.2 and all instance are setup as instance type production (not sandbox, still trying to figure that part out on our end).

Apparently, as I wrote this, Microsoft responded and confirmed there were sync issues and forwarded the ticket to their back-end team.  I suppose that eliminates anything I could do through the portal to fix it, unless someone else knows a work around.  Another factor I figured had it related to sync issues between them, is a user that was previous deleted still showed up in that same environment, so clearly it wasn't getting the AD changes.  Hopefully, if this happens to someone else, create a Microsoft Support ticket :-)

Thanks for the reply, but per my own reply the issue is actually a Microsoft synchronization failure on their end.  I'm just waiting on them to get back to me on the root cause.  The article you provided is informative, but I've read it and many others.  The issue has nothing to do with tenants and the differences, it has to do with the fact I have a single tenant setup, but I have multiple instances in it.  I have a user that was created in Azure AD and given the proper license, etc. That user is in all my instances except one.  So, it's not a setup issue, it has to do with finding out why that user never got replicated in that instace.  As I mentioned, it's kind of hard to describe and I'm not 100% sure I phrased it right.  Thanks again and best regards.
