My client wants to be able to run a smartlist showing depreciation for the period jan-dec 2012. She is on GP2010. I just want to verify that this is not possible until they upgrade to GP2013?
Thx
Rachel

Once you have dumped the transactions, you will want to only look at the FADEP-0 transactions, but now you have all activity that has been done on all your transactions...
If you have smartlist builder you can easily create this report. Basically you take the FA00902 (lists all the assets and the depreciation) and the FA00100 (basically the Asset General Card) and do a join on the field AssetIndex. Then you can run the report and get the depreciation for all years and all periods. I usually then take this report and do a pivot table on it and have the months on top and the asset in the row and then it shows you all the depreciation from the beginning of time.
If you don't have SmartList buildiner if you have Excel and can go to your database again, go out to the two tables and grab the information and then do a vlookup on the Asset General informaiton and bring in the information that you need to add to the FA00902 table to make it readable by your customer.
This has always been available, just took a little effort. I used to dump this out for all my customers who had Fixed Assets once they had closed the year end so that they had this information for their auditors.
