Settings required to enable alerts

Hi there,

I'm trying to setup custom alerts (I set them up through the options tab as shown below and then > create custom alerts)

However, I don't get emailed when the action occurs - are there any settings I need to enable first?

Here is a detailed view of the alert I set up if that is helpful:

Thanks,

Claire

    Hi Claire,

Please check this article. It is mentioned well described.

The article was helpful, and I was able to follow the steps, however the email alert still will not send - I get an error message about SMTP setup, and it tells me to adjust the email parameters page.

This is how I set up my SMTP settings, however when I go to send a test email I get the following error message: pastedimage1638890755717v2.png

    Any guidance would be appreciated.

    Hi Claire,

You have to alter the form with the below information.

    pastedimage1638892608969v1.png

Once this is done then click on the Test email.

    Follow this as per number.

Thank you, this enabled email alerts!

However, when creating my alerts, I'm only able to create them for custom fields - is there a way to set up alerts for existing fields (such as birthdays?)

    Hi Claire,

in that case, you have to use power automate and you can create alerts based on your field.

I have written article on this and I will publish somewhere this week. I ll send you the link.

if you are happy with earlier solution then please mark as verified so that it can help others.

    Hi ClaireWit

As mentioned in my earlier post, I have written a blog post on how to create alerts/notifications for custom fields or any field in the form.
