Hi,

Please help me in determining which modules\documents would be required based on the following description:

"Company performs business in Food Factory. They are Date processing company, there production plant is located at  XYZ location and sales team and branches located at Location1, Location2, Location2 and Location4 that involves warehouse and van sales activities. Please note that they also need two Point of Sale systems in our showrooms in Location4."

Looking forward for your suggestions.

Thanks

Hi, its a generic questions, from your description I'm able to guess following modules are needed, As there Production plant involved, there will purchase of raw materials hence procurement and sourcing module, and account payable modules for managing the Supplier (vendor) masters and their transactions. Payment to suppliers are usually done through bank accounts you might need to setup bank masters so cash and bank management module is needed. Any production plant involves storing of goods so there is a need of warehouse and inventory management and there is manufacturing, this calls for production module and MRP, and there is a sales teams so there will be need for Account Receivable and sales and marketing module are needed to manage customer masters and their transactions and POS requires AX retail and for all these a Finance department will be present hence there is a need of GL, FA, Budget and the company will be having employees a HR module is needed to maintain the users. hope your doubts are cleared.

Thank you so much for your detail answer.

I have a question, for what purpose we will be using Master planning module?

    Thanks

    Hi Jeff,

As it is dste controlled you have to use the process industry features in AX.

MRP will be used to create orders for purchase and production.

    Hi Jeff,

    First up:

You don't pay pr. module in AX 2012... YOU GET IT ALL with any license purchased. All modules with all functionality are available without any extra cost. You pay pr. user.

    Second:

I think you should give Naveen credits for his answer and I agree with him on all accounts. Check his answer as a solution.

    Some comments:

System administration and Organization Management is a given.

You might not need the Warehouse management module if you need a simpler logistics model. If you go down that path, maybe Transportation management is also applicable?

I also believe that a AX Retail implementation is overwhelming if you have a small show room sales counter...

Master planning is a key to success for AX implementations in my opinion. Helping you handle your supply chain planning from purchase, with stock/inventory, flow through production, transit to sites or subsidiaries and sales delivery/order promising. Not essential per say, but probably the biggest and lowest hanging fruit in any AX implementation where movement of goods are involved.
