Change posted cost

Hi all,

I think it doesn't exist such thing but I would like to have a confirmation. Is there any functionality that allows you to change the cost of a posted transaction?

E.g: let's say you posted a BOM Journal and one of the BOM lines is a service and has a cost. The cost was incorrect so you want to change it. Is there anyway to manually update the cost of the transaction created for that line ? (I know that the cost of my finished item might need to be recalculated later through the closing job)

I only know about the "Marking" function, which allows me to link a new transaction to the "old and wrong" transaction so I can cancel the effect and then create a new journal with the right cost.

Thanks in advance.

Regards.

    Hi Nick Holden,

In the inventory and closing form in the inventory module you have a functionality to adjust transactions.

Have you tried using this functionality already?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Ludwig,

    Thanks for your quick response.

I have just checked it and I think it is just what I was looking for.

I didn't know that functionality was available. It's very helpful!

I only have one extra question: if I update the cost of a transaction, is it necessary to run the Inventory Closing job? Or the new cost is inmediatly considered for new transactions?

    Thanks again.

    Hi Nick,

The new cost should automatically be considered.

If it is receipt (+) transaction then no inventory recalculation/closing is necessary. In case of an issue (-) transaction, I would run an extra recalculation for that item only.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
