Can't access CRM without being on the CRM server

I am having difficulties accessing my on premise installation of CRM 2015 from anywhere other than the CRM server itself. From the CRM server I go to http://servername:5555/organizationname and have no issues. If I am on a workstation or a different server on the network and go to that URL, I get "This page can't be displayed" error. This appeared to be an easy problem to solve, but I am having problems finding a solution. Does anyone have any knowledge that could assist me in solving this problem?

Thank you in advance for any assistance you can offer!

Thanks for your assistance Mohamed! I was initially looking at the properties of a specific org in DM.

Thanks again Aileen! I believe that the issue was related to the firewall on the CRM server. I appreciate your help!

This screen shot you shared is showing the properties of the SQL server on your deployment manager. It seems that you have right clicked on the SQL Server and clicked properties. You should right click on the CRM server to get its properties instead.

    Hi Mike,

If you can access the server using IP but not through URL, then you either a) have an issue with your DNS server on this Network LAN/VLAN or b) you got a CRM deployment issue.

"a" above is more common. You need to check your DNS server on your network or ask your IT team to make sure your server IP address is allocated the correct server.

If not, then you need to try to resolve issue "b" which you will need to open up the Dynamics CRM Deployment manager (start menu/search for it) to make sure you have the URLs for your CRM servers set up correctly. Here is an MSDN screenshot of example URLs: blogs.msdn.com/.../4456.image_5F00_thumb_5F00_5400D78A.png

    Hope it helps!

Ville, I had to restart the WMSVC service but everything else was running... Still no luck.

Thanks for the quick response Aileen! I can ping the "ipaddress" but not http://"ipaddress" from the SQL server.  I have checked the Windows Firewall and it is off. When I go to properties in DM I only have the general tab.

Check your IIS, ammm think it's in Roles -> Web Server(IIS) and check that IIS Admin, WMSvc, WAS, w3SVC... them all are running

    Mike,

from the workstation or a different server on the network you mentioned, please try to ping to the http://servername

It can be 3 problems here:

    1. the servername hostname DNS is not resolved, so to check please do ping and try to change the http://servername to the http://x.x.x.x    which x is the ip address.

    2. Firewall for port 5555, please turn off this.

    3. Go to the CRM Deployment Manager in the CRM Server, then go to Properties, okay.

    Then see the Web Address..

Is that the web address correct?

    Thanks.
