journals deleted

Aloha,

Longtime IT guy here. Complete newbie to RMS.

Someone accidentally deleted several days journals (batch files).  I have a backup and can restore the database from before that date.  However, I'm not sure how to connect to the restored DB and not sure how to recover just those journals and put them back in the right place.

Windows 2008 Server

RMS 2.0.0105

SQL 2005

Thanks

I don't have management studio.  Can I use management studio express?

Journals aka saved receipts, live in the dbo.journal table.  So you could do a bulk copy from the restored database to the current database.  Always do a backup first.

You have to connect to the server to perform the restore - hardest part.  Try the following article for some basics and use SQL Management studio.  This way you can see multiple databases at the same time (grphically).
