"To Dimension" is greyed out on an inventory transfer journal

Is this stock behavior? We are attempting to transfer an item from one warehouse to another warehouse, but specify difference financial dimensions so that the inventory value is transferred.

    Hi,

    Glad that it helped. Currently, the system does not allow to associate multiple sites to same financial dimension as I can see in the code, so the only way to overcome this limitation is to modify the code in order to prevent this error message.

    Baber, thanks for all your help. This definitely seems to help...with the only exception being when there are multiple sites to one cost center. Trying to add another site under the same cost center results in an error saying the cost center is already associated with a site. Can you think of a way around this?

    Hi gfadden

    You need to configure financial dimension links to Sites. Following link describes this setup:

    technet.microsoft.com/.../gg231846.aspx

    As soon, as you are done with the above configuration, when you select any Site in To site field, the To dimension will automatically be updated based on the financial dimension you specified on Sites form.

    Baber -- Thanks. I guess the real question is, how do you transfer parts from one cost center to another and have the corresponding journal entry reflect a transfer of value?

    Hi gfadden,

    The To dimension field is not editable on this form. It only displays the financial dimension to which the selected journal line is being transferred. Try to specify From dimension, close the form and open it again, you will see the To dimension will be populated. I don't know why it works like this, but I have found this behavior.
