    Hi,

Actually not, however, it does help you A LOT to understand how the process works.

Usually, if not for all certifications, MS provides a chapter called "LAB". In this chapter you can connect to a virtual machine and explore a process in D365FO.
It gives you the opportunity to check your knowledge in this specific chapter.

    Kind regards, Adis

    Hi CU04060509-0,

If you are preparing for a certification exam you can also spin up a sandbox for executing the hands on labs, as mentioned by Adis.

This will spin up a virtual machine with a demo D365 FO instance.

It depends on what D365 we are talking about. There are different ways of getting a trial depending on the type of product.
The organisation/work email can be worked around by creating a Microsoft trial tenant. There are a few videos on Youtube on how to do so.

Regardless, I say yes. My advice is to take the learning objectives of the certifications in question, and try to implement it.

Certifications (in my opinion / minor rant from my side) is a validation that you are able to configure a system, not just remember answers and check boxes.
When I participate in interviews, I tend to ask questions on how to implement a specific topic, or how you did it last time.

You can use Microsoft Learn for Lab environments.
