Hi Refeesh,
Reverse Depreciation is available in GP. Please follow the below steps.
1. Go to Tools-->Routines-->Fixed Asset-->Depreciate.
2. Unmark "Depreciate all Aasset" and mark the "Reverse Depreciation".
3. Enter the target date for Depreciation reverse.
4. Insert the book ids which you want to reverse.
5. Then click the Depreciate button from the top of the window.
Note: Make sure you have a latest backup of company database.
Hope this helps!!!
Unfortunately, Reversing Depreciation en masse was not available in GP 10. It didn't come along until GP 2013. Basically, you have 3 options:
1. Reverse depreciation 1 asset at a time using the 'Depreciate One Asset' Routine. You select the asset, reset the Depreciation Target Date to an earlier date and click the Depreciate button. You could create a macro to do this if you have a lot of assets to reverse.
2. Restore a backup of your database, if no other activity occurred in the database after running depreciation.
3. Delete the December 2014 Depreciation values from the FA00902 table in SQL.
dear Mr.Frank Hamelly ,
i goes though the 3rd option and i deleted the fixed asset depreciation for december 2014 and january 2015 after that i cannot able to depreciate for these months i can do only february. please advice
Do you get an error message when trying to run Depreciation Refeesh?
No error message came.
i change the year 2014 and run the depreciation after process the print out is blank also run the GL but no batch created . It's not applied anyware can u advice the steps
I removed from FA00902 , FA00200 for December and January
Hmmmm, Refeesh, FA00200 is the Asset Book Master. If you deleted records from this table, that means you no longer have Book info setup for the assets and you will need to reset those. What is the query you ran against that table?
By the way, are you doing this in a test database?
Yes all I am doing in test db only
I will restore and remove the data from 902 for December 2014 and January 2015 and I will run again.
delete FA00902 where DEPRTODATE = ’12/31/2014' is it okay or any other table shall I remove
