Dynamics 365 Portals - Not able to select relationship in Entity Permissions

Posted on by 20

Hi Team,

I am trying to create a new Entity Permission where Entity is Account and Scope is Contact, but I am not able to select the relationship, the dropdown itself is not appearing, I am facing the same issue while update an existing Entity Permission as well. I am facing this only when Entity is Account and the Scope is Contact, for other entities and scope it is working fine.

Earlier also I have faced this issue, that time it is auto resolved after some time.

Not sure whether there is any limit on the count of entity permissions for a combination.

Not able to find the route cause for this.

If anyone faced this issue earlier, please share your findings.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Madhan,

    Hi Leha,

    Thanks for your suggestions.
There are multiple relationships that exist between Account and Contact, as I mentioned I am not able to edit existing Entity Permissions as well with the same combination.

I have tried different browsers and cleared cache, still issue persists.

Is there any limit in the count of Entity Permissions for the Combination of Entity and Scope?

One moe thing, I have tried this in 2 instances of CRM, getting issue in both the instances.

    Thanks for your time.

    Regards,

    Madhan.

    Hi Madhan,

The dropdownlist of the contact relationship show relationship between entity (you select) and contact entity, in your example, it is account and contact, so you need check their relationships in the crm.

Go Settings > Customization > Customize the system > Entities > Account.

    1:N relationships:

    N:1 relationships:

    N:N relationships:

You can ensure there is relationship between account and contact

And you can try to clear cache or change another browser to test again.

I tried to reproduce this and could not.  What browser are you using?  Can you try another browser and/or private to see if it happens?  Maybe just a cache issue (I know, simple suggestion, but dont want to leave you hanging).
