Cannot add a field to the Unit Entity

Hi,

I want to add a field to the Unit Entity but the button to add a new field is missing. Does anyone know why this is and if there is a workarround?

    Not all system entities allow modification, Unit, Unit Group, SharePoint Site, etc... are just a few. 

    You probably would need to create a 1:N relationship between Unit and a custom entity and place the new field there.
