Dynamics BC licence question

Hi

New to this forum and in process of evaluating Dynamics BC for a newly formed organisation - I have a question about the Team member licence and whether this allows a user to enter timesheets, or whether these users need a full licence. 

Set up is initially expected to be 2-5 full licences and up to 20 timesheet users (there may be others who only get a Teams licence). It would not work, cost wise,  if these users need a full licence.

Also, does the external Accountant need a paid for licence?

Any help or guidance appreciated.

    Yes, Team Member license can allow to Enter the Timesheets. Their is no need to buy full user license, if user only want to enter the Timesheets.

    By the team member license users can access to the “basic functionality”, such as “read access as well as some write access for select light tasks”.

    If you want to see the details like what type of objects Team member can read, modify, insert, delete then you can check the User Group (D365 Team Member) Permissions.

    Regarding the external accountant license, you can invite up to 3 external users (External Accountants). These 3 licenses have the same use rights as your standard license except access to the user setup and admin tasks.

    Even If these 3 users are free of charge, they are not automatically added to tenant. CSP partner have to do it and if partner forget it, you will get an error message No External Accountant license available. Contact your administrator.

    If you face this issue then you need contact your CSP and to require adding these 3 licenses to your tenant. When these licenses are added, they will appear in your Admin Portal.

    Hello,

    Adding to Naveen's reply... Attached is my Business Central License Guide. This breaks down the license types. A Team Member can enter Timesheet information. An External Accountant would be a Team Member too with an External Accountant Role/Profile.

    Hi,

    Your license is going to expire. Please update the latest license.

    You can use below commands to Import the License and Then Restart the Service-

    Import-NAVServerLicense -LicenseFile "C:\License.flf" -ServerInstance BCXXX
    Restart-NAVServerInstance BCXXX
