Activating analytical accounting

I am trying to activate Analytical Accounting in GP10 and I get the following error message:

[Microsoft][SQLNative Client][SQL Server] Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint 'PKAAG10002' Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.AAG10002'

Does anyone have a fix for this?

This is most likely caused because the value that is being inserted already exists in the table.

Look at techknowledge https://mbs.microsoft.com/knowledgebase/KBDisplay.aspx?WTNTZSMNWUKNTMMYKKQRRUZVRPSSXNSNKVMMVVRXTSXXQNNVZKKSSQUZOZXOKPKP which may be of some help.

I tried running the script against the DYNAMICS database and got the following error message:

    Msg 208, Level 16, State 1, Procedure aagUpdateAAG00102, Line 15

    Invalid object name 'AAG30000'.

This is telling you that table name AAG00102 is not created in the database.

I'm wondering if there are issues with your odbc / rights since you got these errors on the install.

Have you a GP Partner you can ask? They may be able to log in and review your set up?

If not, we'll keep digging here.

I have another machine that has in install of GP 10 and Analytical accounting is activated but I looked in the database and it does not have a table AAG00102

On both instances, the table AAG00102 exists in the Dynamics database

I ran the script as suggested.  Now here's what happens:  When I go into Analyical Accounting Setup wizard, under setup options, the Create Default Record box is checked.  When I click Next, the only options that show up are:

    Company options

    Create fiscal years

    Create main trees

    Fill accts table

    These options all complete successfully.

When I go back into setup and check the Activate Analytical Accounting box and click Next and click Finish on the next screen, that's where I get the following error:

[Microsoft][SQL Native Client] [SQL Server] Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint 'PKAAG10002'  Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.AAG10002'

I was finally able to get it activated by removing the AA module and re-installing it, running GP Utilities, and running the script mentioned in KB 912965

Thats good stuff JoAnn. I have just finished installing it here myself. No errors, and those tables are present. My next suggestion was a remove and re-install! Not sure why the script would resolve this issue though. But good that its working now anyway.

    Best regards,

It was on an install that was actually a move to a new server and at the same time we upgraded from GP9 to GP10 so I assume something happened during the process with some of the AA tables
