I am currently working on an opening migration project in Dynamics 365 Business Central. My work often involves repeatedly comparing two files to check whether the data has been copied correctly and to identify missing or incorrect information after that import back to BC.

I am wondering whether it would be worthwhile to build an AI agent to assist with this process, or whether there is a simpler and more practical solution, such as Excel features, Power Query, Python, or another existing tool.

For those with experience in data migration or Business Central, what would you recommend? Should I develop an AI agent, or would a simpler automation method be more suitable for this type of repetitive comparison work?

If you upload these files directly to AI tools like Copilot, they should be able to compare them for you.
Honestly, this is a pretty rare requirement. Clients usually give you a finalized template to import, so you rarely need to compare files back and forth like this.
If you need it, the simplest approach would be using a standard MCP server in Copilot Studio to create a Business Central agent.
