Manage Offline Inventory grey out issue

Hi:

We are running Microsoft RMS Version 2.0.0110 and in the last couple of days we have had an odd problem pop-up. When you are in Store Operations Manager >> Inventory >> Manage Off-line Inventory on the bottom of the screen the two buttons called "TO MAIN" and "TRANSFER OUT" are greyed out.

When the screen first opens they are available, then they grey out within less than a minute.

This has never been an issue before. I checked security settings and that does not seem to be an issue. Has anyone else had this issue?

This function is critical for us to be able to manage returns and credits with our inventory.

Thank you,

Pennye

    Pennye,

Are there items in the list?

Did you select a line and then try it?

    Jeff,

Yes there are approx 500 line items in the list. I did try selecting an item and it stays greyed out. I also tried on multiple machines to make sure it was not an isolated incident on one machine, and we are having the same issue across all workstations.

    Thank you,

    Pennye

    Pennye,

It seems like I have run into this before, but don't rememeber the fix and I don't see anything where it was fixed. but it is working properly with .0155.

Is there some reason that you are running such an old version though?  Current SP is 2.0.0155 with hotfixes up to .0165

Our previous VAR never told us about any updates nor fixes and we were never sent information about the CustomerSource site, so we have not had any updates since we installed the system.

Sounds like "previous" is a good thing!

It does sound like a security issue. Either security above your level has been set on the buttons or your security level has been changed.

At the risk of telling you what you already know (and for the information of those who don't), it can be checked by showing the Offline Inventory form, setting RMS into Security mode (File->Security->Set Security) and then pressing Ctrl-S. This will outline all insecure controls in blue and those with some measure of security in red. If 'To Main' and 'Transfer Out' are in red, click them to remove the levels of security you don't want. Don't forget to take RMS out of Security mode again (same menu actions).

Or... if a selected item is already the subject of a non-closed transfer ('Transfer #' non-blank), those two buttons are greyed.

I have checked the security settings and it is not a transfer number issue. These are items that need to be transferred, but we cannot access those buttons to initiate the transfer.

    Thanks,

    Pennye
