I have a request that a user only be able to edit/view have access to the Change Party Association field on the vendor screen. With just the Maintain Vendor privilege, it allows access to all fields. Is it possible to just access one field?
The button points to action menu item DirPartyEntityAssociationUpdateVend, which is included only in security privilege VendTableMaintain (Maintain vendor).
You can create a new privilege that contains only this menu item. Then assign that privilege, together with VendTableView to your user.
Hi SCWIT0905,
The 'Change party association' field of the vendor page is controlled by DirPartyEntityAssociationUpdateVend. You can set whether its read permission is 'Grant' or 'Unset'. In order to allow users to access this page, you also need to give ‘View vendors’ permission.
Please create a new role and assign privilege displayed in below picture.
‘test privilege’-- new created and assign action menu items for it.
Regards,
QianQW
Thank you for this screen shot. I was unsure of the view vendors until you sent this. When I use this setting, I am still able to edit contact information on the screen shot. I can add/remove/edit, and the requirement is for this to not be able to be edited by this security role
Can you show me a screenshot of which contact information you can edit?
In my tests, if I only assign the two privileges in the image above (the ‘test privilege’ only contain one action menu item ‘DirPartyEntityAssociationUpdateVend’), I can only edit the Change party association field.
Could you check if you assigned other privileges or add other action menu items for one privilege to the role?
Can you tell the exact details you have included in your current role? Can you also check if the user has just this role or also other roles which might raise the level of some permissions?
User only has this role, This role has 2 privileges. "test Privledge" as stated above, only Action Menu Item DirPartyEntityAssociationUpdatevend shows as stated above. The rest of the action menu items say deny. How should the view vendor be set up? I have no action items there. What about the display menus?
You don’t need to do any modifications for the privilege ‘View vendors’. Simply assign the privilege that exist in the system itself.
Please show the screenshot of which contact information you can still edit and the security configuration for this role.
Can you add screenshots where you can show the exact contents of your new privilege; assuming that you did not change the view vendors.
Here is the role I have.
Also the area circled is where I can still edit the customer
Hi,
Can you also go deeper on the RP_Maintain vendors? What exact entry points with which access are in it?
