Why is it not possible to "open" in outlook, when sending documents from Business Central?

Does any one know why the function does not excist in Business Central?

We use to get to choose to send from NAV, or open in outlook? The open in outlook does not excist in BC.

Hope someone know if it is due to the Office 365 integration, that they have not made it possible?

    As far as I know, Microsoft Web Client team is not planning to provide support for web-client integration with the Outlook desktop app. Browser architecture simply does not allow that.

    Here are the corresponding issues on the GitHub where it was mentioned: 

    In the D365BC, there is new standard functionality available that allows sending a document by email without Outlook:

    I don't know is this way acceptable in your case, but, probably, this functionality can be used as an alternative for sending emails without Outlook.

    The cloud will not know whether you have Outlook desktop installed or not. Unless you use Office 365, I can't imagine how they are going to integrate with desktop app.

    That also means there is no chance to send mails from Sales/Purch Person mail adresses directly?
