No way to 'Un' Receive an item

Posted on by 75,730

Has any one else ever submitted a request to unreceive ad item? I have had several occurrences where a user enters the wrong item received on a po receipt. Most often it is caused by having two items with very similar part numbers. So let's say you have two items on a PO and their numbers are 12345 and 12346. On the loading dock is 12346 but you enter 12345. GP now closes out the line for 12345. You can do a PO return to adjust inventory, however in order to receive 12345 in the future when it actually does arrive, you have to add a line to the PO you cannot simply change the status of the PO line to never received. You would think it would not be that big of program change to adjust the code to handle situations linke this?

Have you checked out GP2010?  Was a feature added.   I did not spend a lot of time on playing with it, but it does reopen a PO line.   I would do a little testing before rolling out in production.   Check it out!!   Prior to GP2010, it is as you say...
