Sales Transaction Entry D Checkbox

This is probably a really simple question, but I cant find it via google. What does it mean if you check the checkbox next to the item number and does this affect your inventory? I'm wondering if it means drop ship?

Thanks!

    Hi Emily

    It is for drop ship.

Here is the text regarding this field from the help menu:

If you mark an item as drop-ship, any allocated quantities will be unallocated and any serial or lot numbers attached to the items will be deleted. Also, if there is a back-order quantity for the item on the document, the Quantity to Back Order will be set to zero.

If you unmark an item that is marked as a drop-ship item, the Quantity Alert icon will be displayed. If you select the Quantity Alert button, the system will attempt to allocate and fulfill the item. You can’t change the drop-ship checkbox if the line item has a quantity on a purchase order.

Jeffrey is correct, basically you are marking that line to be drop shipped- so processing that line will no longer touch your physical inventory.
