Adding Batch Number column to Journal Movement Lines Form

Hi

I'd like to add some fields, like Batch Number from InventDim data source in the InventJournalMovement form. I know that this can be done through the Inventory > Dimensions option in the UI, but I'd like to make those fields appear the moment I launched the lines view form.

As I have search through the web, I've found that I have to find a method called updateDesign() so that I can code which fields in the InventDimParm will be shown on my form. However, I was only able to do this on InventTransferOrders form. and not to InventJournalMovement form. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

    Hi Harvey,

Ludwig is correct with his last statement. However this should be done before users open the forms with inventory dimensions. Otherwise the changes later on the parameter might not have effect anymore (only for new users).

I do agree that customization is waste here. Why spending money on something stupid? Then in future it needs to be considered during updates.

    Hi Harvey,

    Can you try another thing:

Open the inventory parameters - navigate to the inventory dimensions tab and select those dimensions that you want to see by default when opening a Journal, form, etc.

I believe this should do the job without any code modification.

We already did though, but they still want it to be added that way.

I would suggest to get into the discussion about that requirement and ask users doing one additional mouse-click that takes 3 seconds of time :-)

Yeah, but I have a requirement that it must appear without setting it up in that option.

    Hi Harvey Oroceo,

If you save your selection made through the Inventory > Dimensions option, wouldn't this already fix the issue?
