MR reports exporting / printing in PDF

ReportReport

Can someone here help me with this one. We would like to export the reports in PDF - what are the options we have? Installing a PDF writer as a printer - is it going to resolve the issue or is there any other solution?

Thanks,

John

    John,

Management Reporter reports can be exported to Excel, XBRL and XPS file formats from the browser or Report Viewer application. If XPS doesn't fit your criteria, then creating a PDF printer will serve this purpose.

If you need PDF then a PDF print driver would be the way to go.

    Hi,

If you are using the Report Group, can you export the multiple reports as 1 PDF?  Let's say you had a Balance Sheet and several Income Statements.  Is there a way to have a single pdf file with the various reports within it?  page 1 would be the balance sheet, page 2 would be the first income statement, etc.

Trying to avoid having to print each to a PDF file and then combining it into 1 packet.

    Thank you,

    Lyn

    Lyn -

Management Reporter will produce the separate PDFs, but Acrobat has the better tool set for combining them into one file, after creation.  I have used this feature for many years.  I would check with an Adobe nerd to see if it can be substantially automated.

    Thanks Harry!

Do you know what version of MR 2012 (which CU?) that has the export to PDF function?  Currently, we can see Export to Excel and XPS.

Sorry for any confusion. Most PDF writers create a Virtual PDF Printer, which can be used like any other printer, but generates PDF files as an output, when you print to it. Microsoft has set up the Export options to include tools like Excel and XPS (their own flavor of PDF).  So in order to get a report into PDF format, a user would need to print the report to PDF.  If they saved these reports to a networked folder, then the same user or another user could create a consolidated catalog of reports using Adobe's tools.  I theorize, based on some experience I have using VB to cause acrobat to perform some tasks, that it might be possible to create an automation to consolidate and change the name of these reports.
