Dear Guys,

I am trying to resurrect an old POS machine hardware and software for a client using RMS.  Given the current situation, dealing with COVID they cant afford new stuff.

I was wondering if anyone had some Old Product ID's that are still valid and willing to donate to the cause.  I keep getting an " Network Error" when i try to validate with the ones i have.  I dont know if it is the network itself or the PID.

Thanks again community ...

I have the same question (0)

In the last 3 months I successfully reinstalled POS on two Win 7 terminals by using the online registration. What happened to me is when I tried online at night time (Sydney time) was success when was trying during normal working hours (Sydney time) was getting that same message as you. I don't know if this so now.

Neos Thanks for the Advice. I will try at different times to see if it makes a difference.  Also did you use the Same PID for all 3 of the installs you did recently ?  I know the ones i have are valid cuz i used them way back in the past.

    Hello.

As I remember I did the following:

All machines had no Retail manager prior or hard disk been formatted,

Before connecting to local network, I installed from original CD complete RMS (SQL, Manager, Admin, OPOS) with PID that was with the original CD,

Created a database from an old backup and connected as local, with Administrator, once connection established I tested the Manager

Then opened OPOS and hit the register over the net. Did not ask for any keys or anything, just gave "success".

Then established a connection to network server. One think I found necessary, was if the machine is on Windows XP and the others are Win 7 or 10 (we never had any 8s) the first network connection should be attempted from XP machine.

We have all mixture of windows all happily running Manager and Administrator but cash registers are on XPs and 7s.

    I hope this can help.

Hi!  Is the customer lapsed on maintenance/BRAP? We've been able to re-issue and activate lost license keys by calling the activation number at Microsoft if the customer is current on maintenance - otherwise the it is the lapse fee's, etc....we are offering a RITE RMS Maintenance Plan but it would cost about the same as a new lane license key (approx $1095 for one year).

Thanks for the breakdown of how you did it . However the Online activation does not work for me .  No matter what PID or time of day i try.

In the end i eventually had to use the MS Dynamics hotline to get it activated. Was a little bit of a hassle , however i was successful .

Thanks again for reaching out Neos ... Peace and Love to you, Stay Safe in this Crazy Covid World
