associated view on multiple entities for not only viewing but adding records which can be seen on the other entities

I have a custom entity which I would like to use on multiple entities using associated view. I would like to be able to have all the records associated from an account available on the entities and be able to add new ones which would then be seen on all the entities using this associated view. IS there a way to accomplish this?

Thanks!

    Hi kmc333,

As per its name, ' "Associated" View'

It is a view to show all ASSOCIATED record of an entity record.

Because it is to show the associated record for a record only,

The view can only be seen if you are in the Account form (for example) and then you will see this view, this view is located in the form, navigation (arranged in left one by form editor), but in the UI it is after you click the chevron (on top), when you open it you will see the related record.

As we know CRM has relationship, this associated view is to accommodate you to see the related record, either 1:N (parent child) or N:N

    Hope this helps you.

    Thanks.

For adding new record to custom entity you need to have Create previlege on your custom entity

    check below link,

Hi Shahbaaz, What am I looking to find out is if there is a way to maintain the data across multiple entities, have the show up and also allow for new data to be added. I can see that the associated view can be added to multiple entities but what I am not able to do is have new data added using the associated view on one entity and have it carry over across the other entities.

    Hi ,

Associated view is default view that lists the related entities for a record , its a system view .It does not allow you to modify . However you can create personal view and public view for  that.

    Hope this helps.
