How do I write to a batch job log?

I have made a modification to a batch job and need to confirm that the parameter it uses are correct so I have echo'd the parameter using the Info function. After the job has completed clicking on Log gives nothing. Does the Log only display errors? I have replaced Info with Warning and Error but there is still no output to view.

How can I output and retain messages associated with a batch job?

You can try to go to batch task inside of batch job and check log there.

Yes I've tried that but it's the same result - nothing.

What about batch job history, did you set "save job history = Always" ?

Did you do CIL  after your changes ?

Yes it was set to Always. I hadn't generated an Incremental CIL but have just done that and the result is the same.

You can try to reset user data and run the batch again.

    Note:

Before doing so, make sure you don't have any important data which will be lost.

I tried that but it makes no difference.

If I run the batch interactively my trace messages are displayed in an infolog. I can't see why it's so hard to get these into the batch log.
