Unable to access SharePoint Documents from Account

Posted on by 602

We are unable to open Documents on SharePoint from an Account.  This is for one specific account, not all accounts.  It happens in all browsers and for all users.  I have sys admin rights and I am unable to open Documents for this account as well.

I get this error:

Error

An error has occurred.

Try this action again. If the problem continues, check the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Community for solutions or contact your organization's Microsoft Dynamics 365 Administrator. Finally, you can contact Microsoft Support.

Has anyone else experienced this?  How did you fix it?

Thanks in advance

You could try to delete the SharePoint Document Location from CRM (Settings - Document Management - Document Locations) and recreate it.

You need to make sure you recreate it so that it points to the existing SharePoint folder where the documents for that record are stored. (You can have a look at other Document Locations records so that you see how these are set up and what values they store)

We are able to access the file directly on SharePoint.  Is there a way to 'reconnect' it to the Account in CRM?

    Hi Barbara,

If you log into SharePoint do you see the folder created there for this particular account? This could be the only thing that comes into my mind that either the folder was deleted or that it is a permission issue. Therefore, i would start by seeing if the folder exists and is accesible directly on SharePoint.

    Regards,

    Radu
