Hello,

i want to know if i can attach a word template ( 2 or 3 documents) for contact/account/leadentity to an email with worflow or plugin .?

when a add an lead i want to send him an email contenant customise document with his name for example, and when i convert it to client ( contact or account) i send him anather email with anather document ( multiple documents ) ??

it's possible to do that with custome developpement or workflow ?

yes, you can send email with attachment using workflow.

Hi yos yos,

The following blog post describes how to auto generate Word Templates: community.dynamics.com/.../how-to-auto-generate-word-templates-using-a-simple-workflow-and-oob-action-in-crm-2016-no-code

You could combine that with a step in the workflow to send out the emails.

Thank you for your answer,

i created the workflow plugin and it work fine .

Now i want to add dialog box in crm to choose the list of attached file, and then i select which file i will attach it in the email ,

because with the example i can attach just one file, i want to attach 3 or 4 file

its possible to do that ??

Hi i did that , this is a good example to create a plugin that attach a document to email community.dynamics.com/.../sending-email-with-entity-attachment-from-notes

and you must work with workflow also to generate the document

Hi,

I just saw this question and wanted to let you know about a free solution I built that handles adding attachments to an email. The solution is called Workflow Elements and you can get it free from https://kaskela.wordpress.com

When you install the solution, you'll set up your workflow like this:

1) Generate the template

2) Create the email (not Send email, just Create a record)

3) Call new activity "Documents – Email an Attachment", which will find the new template and attach it to the email

4) Call new activity "Emails - Send a Draft Email" which will send out the saved/draft email.

Aiden - I've tried to perform this with your solution but I'm not sure how to select the proper email. I've used the "Create Email" not send but when I go to attach the file the "Email to attach Files" option is looking at past sent messages. How do i overcome that?

Hi,

Select the input parameter for the email to send and on the right side navigate to the two drop downs. In the upper drop down (Look for), select the name of your activity where you're creating the email - it should be near the bottom of the list. Then select Email Message. Here's an example - kaskelasolutions.com/how-to-add-dynamic-recipients-to-an-email - go down to the selection "Add Recipients to the Email".
