With this settings, the system require me must fill in serial number (sales and purchase) as long as my item link to this item tracking code. However, sometime the item deliver without serial number and I can't fill in the S/N. In this case, how can i set optional serial number with settings below ?
Is that possible ?.

    Hello Sam,

Regarding your question if you setup an Item to use N Series tracking isn't possible to use for some process and not for others.

In case you are entering the No  Serie you receive from you supplier and in some cases you don't have it I would suggest to use  the  automatic No series assignment, you will just need to create a No Series to use for this specific N Serie tracking.

In this way you will have a way to identify the entries has a real No Serie provided by your supplier and the others as a non- real No Serie (just for internal usage).

Hope this can help you to move forward.

    Hi Carmen,

Thanks for your answer. I think your solution is very near to what we require but I not fully understand it.

Now i have created a no series called "S/N auto numbering". Should i assign this no series to some configuration screen ?

It means when we do the purchase shipment, if we don't specify the S/N, system will auto assign a running number for me.

    Hi Sam,

As per Carmen, just adding more detail that you can add the No. Series for Item tracking on the item card in Lot Nos. field available next to Item Tracking Code.

Mark Carmen and my answer verified so to help others.

    Regards,

    Bilal
