Using Shared Number Sequence for Customer ID

According to this article

https://community.dynamics.com/365/financeandoperations/b/financials/posts/new-feature-for-8-1-shared-number-sequences-for-customers-and-vendors-with-copy-capability

It should be possible to select as customer ID a number sequence with scope of "Shared" (so all companies will use a single number sequence for assigning a new customer account ID).

However, although this was supposedly released over a year ago, I am not able to do that on my instance of 10.0.6, and my Customer Group form does not have the new field of "Customer Account Number" is not showing up.

Anyone knows what happened to that functionality?

    Hi Zvika,

First step is to change the number sequence to shared on number sequence form. Find Number sequence from AR parameters.

Once you have shared number sequence, only then you see the number sequence field on the customer group form.

Do you see that?  Not sure of the screenshot now from your environment or somewhere else.

Also if you specify the NS on customer group, it used that number sequence and not the shared. So share NS, don't specify the NS on customer group. Hope this helps.

    Hi Satish,

When I create a number sequence with scope of "Shared" it is not available for selection on the AR parameters form, for Customer ID.

Have you tried that and it is working on your environment? what version?

I have tried this on several environments ranging from 10.0.4 to 10.0.6 and it is the same on all of them - it is just not possible to select Shared sequences.
