Inputting historical balances from Company after a merger

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

We are currently in a merger with another company.  The decision has been made that we will continue using MS Dynamics GP as our financial system (the other company is using QuickBooks).  Is it possible to load the historical balances from the merged company into GP?  If so, what is the best method?  I would like to avoid hiring an MS Partner to do the work so manually entry would be the preferred route.  Any help is appreciated!!

    Hi,

Ouch! Manual entry - they must not have much history.

    1. Export the data from QuickBooks and load it into Excel Spreadsheets then use Integration manager, eConnect or a 'mail-merge' macro to enter the information into GP.

    2. Use the Rapid Development tools provided by Microsoft to export/import the information from QuickBooks into GP.

    3. Use the ZAP tool developed by 'Gloria Braunschweig' <Gloryb8@outlook.com> to effortlessly import the data, including payment history, into GP. Gloria sold her company and tool, but you may be able to search for it, or send her an e-mail.

    4. Manual entry is always a possibility, but I'd create a macro instead of beating the keys.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
