After migration to crm 2016 from crm 2013 getting an error.

Hello All Experts,

I have come across the below error while running a console application which connects to the crm to fetch some data.

Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.IdentityModel, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
Error Details No InnerException Supplied

 


The console application works in crm 2013 sp1 perfectly but not on crm 2016 .

the system was migrated using staging server crm 2015.

can anyone suggest me to resolve this issue.

    Hi,

     on the machine where your console app runs without problems, can you open that folder? Do you see the files?

    If yes, just copy those files to the folder where your console app is stored on the 2016 server (you don't have to put those files in the same folder as on 2013.. just need to make them visible to your console app, so you can put in the same folder where your console app is stored)

    Are you running that console application directly on the CRM server? 

    You might try getting that missing dll from the old 2013 server - it would usually be in this folder:

    %Program Files%\Reference Assemblies\Microsoft\Windows Identity Foundation\v3.5

    Take the dlls you'll find there and put them next to your console "exe" file on the 2016 server (in the same folder as your console app)

    What .Net version you are using for the console application? Try with 4.5.2 or so.

    Please refer the following to install and enable it:

    Install Microsoft.IdentityModel with the right version.
