Is there a way to import invoice batches into GP from a database or excel?

I am new to Microsoft Dynamics GP and plan to go live Jan 1, 2012.  I plan to enter beginning balances for the Balance Sheet then begin processing activity thru GP.  Our business creates thousands of invoices each week and are hoping there is a way to import these from a database or Excel rather than inputing each invoice manually.  Is this possible?

Yes, you just need to decide which import tool to use.  The most popular are GP's Integration Manager, eOne's SmartConnect and Scribe's Scribe Insight.  Which one to choose will depend on volume and whether you want the imports to be automated or run manually.  Integration Manager is manual, SmartConnect and Scribe can be scheduled.

    Hope this helps,

Adding to Frank's comment integration manager as well can be scheduled, using AutoIM, and Windows Task Scheduler
