EMPLTABLE after migration

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by 180

after a migration EMPLTABLE.NAME seems to be renamed to EMPLTABLE.DEL_NAME

found out that DEL_ prefix tables or columns will be deleted in a next upgrade.

in what table is the employee data stored now? more data of the employees have a DEL_ prefix like :
ADDRESS, MAIL, CITY, STREET.

what table i'm i looking for?

All of the addresses are held in the global address book now, so you will find these fields in the DIRPARTYTABLE

Thanks for your reply .. but now more questions :)

    * so the global address book now contains not only employee data but also non-employee data?

    * this means EMPLID is now PARTYID?

    * PROJJOURNALTRANS contains a EMPLID but no PARTYID. How can this be joined?

    * isnt there somewhere a visual layout of the database? i have this : msdn.microsoft.com/.../aa852568.aspx but isnt there a layout with a workflow?

    Re: EMPLTABLE after migration

btw .. what is the difference between PROJEMPLTRANS en PROJJOURNALTRANS ..

The ProjEmplTrans table contains hour transactions recorded against a project for work done by an employee.

The ProjJournalTrans table is used to store the journal lines of project hour or fee journals.

same data right? only one is from EMPL point of view .. the other one from a JOURNAL point of view. .but both are used and filled?

There is no visual layout of the database to my knowledge, there was a part one for 4 but that is irrelevant here.

The Empid is still the Empid. The difference is the Empid now has a link with the PartyID so they are all connected.

You would have to analyse the ProjectJournalTrans for employee hours and the ProjEmplTransTable for differences, there will be different process and or data. Knowing these and the posting processes will help you understand the requirements. Basically it is the same source data.

    Re: EMPLTABLE after migration

the report of ax 3.0 was using projectjournaltrans. So i think i still can/should use that one in ax 2009.

"The Empid is still the Empid. The difference is the Empid now has a link with the PartyID so they are all connected. '

    and how is that done?

projectjournaltrans contains a Empid and not a partyid. and in my report i need the name of the employee based on empid from projectjournaltrans. and if you say the firstname/lastname data of the employee is now in DIRPARTYTABLE i dont see the link. DIRPARTYTABLE doesnt contain a EMPID. is there somethere a transformation table EMPID<->PARTYID? or EMPID = PARTYID?

    Re: EMPLTABLE after migration

EmpTable contains the PartyID therefore linking it to the DirParty Table.

    Re: EMPLTABLE after migration

Dirparty table is centralised place for organisation (customers, vendors, and business relations), and persons (employees, contact persons etc).

Common information like name, address, contact information if tick as 'Public' is stored in global address book.
