It all depends on how long ago you last did a cost adjustment and how many transactions you have in your system.

It is also a good idea to always run on the latest hot fix to have the most optimized code.

In some cases it might also be necessary to adjust some indexes to help the process go faster.

If you have a large number of stock keeping units that will also slow down the cost adjustment.

Hi, If you don't have much data and it's still very slow, it is recommended to update to the latest CU, as far as I know, the early NAV2016 had some performance issues.

This depends on the volume of posted transactions in the database and the last time you ran it. If it is taking longer than necessary, run it directly on the server at close of business so that users are not locked out. Subsequently, run it daily or weekly, at least.
