Hi @rp@n,

There is a quite good explanation in docs docs.microsoft.com/.../logic-apps-overview

Logic apps have standard connectors for D365 F&O to manipulate with data through REST API docs.microsoft.com/.../, but there are much more how-to examples and articles in the Internet

Please note, that Logis Apps is Azure service, but not D365 F&O component

You got the answer to your question of what Logic Apps are, you can find a plenty of examples on the internet and you can try to build an app in a few minutes. Why are you still asking for more?
