I am having the same question. I have a email sending child process and the only trigger is "As a child process" and there is no field checked for the "Options for Automatic Processes. It seems no person has answered this question.
Hi Ravi,
No. As the below image told us:

Hi Abdul,
Do you have the any trigger option configured for this workflow other than 'Run as child workflow' such as 'Run as on demand', on record create/ change etc? If yes then it is possible that the workflow is not used as a child workflow and instead it is being executed from those triggers.
Hi Ravi and David,
I am not able to see any dependencies on my child workflow. Is there anything special?
Thanks

AW
Hi Abdul,
You can check the dependencies of the workflow as suggested above.
If you wanted to see the particular child workflow execution then you can go to the regarding of that child workflow execution and check the other background processes which ran for that record.
Hope this helps.
Hi Abdul,
You will need to look at the Child Workflows if you want to see what is calling them.
For example, if I have a child workflow that sends an email but want to know what's using it, I can look at the dependencies for that workflow only. You can then amend those dependent workflows if you need. The child workflow will be listed in the parent workflow, just read through until you see it.
If you want to check multiple child workflows, you will have to check dependencies for each one in turn but this is nice and easy just using that button.
Thanks
Hi Arun,
I am trying to know child process triggering point/event.

you can call child process from another process running on same entity by adding a step in parent process.
also you can run it from run workflow button on form if you make it on demand
Hi David
I have to check all workflows, dialog s etc. Rite? Is there any tricky way to do so?
Thanks

AW
From any process you can click 'Show Dependencies' to see what is calling it.
