Payroll

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I want to run the initial payroll of 2009 without completing the year end procedure for 2008 (Public accountant's request).

The year-to-date totals for the intial 2009 payroll include the 2008 YTD data.

Is there a process by which the intial 2009 payroll can be completed, not close year end for 2008 payroll without impact to the W-2s for 2008 and 2009?

Thank you.

Bob E

As long as you aren't issuing any 2008 checks, you should be fine. Search the Dynamics support for Year end - I'm not at work, so I don't have the KB # with me, but it is not hard to find. I don't think there is a way to make 2008 pay without a lot of manual file patching after you have issued 2009 checks.
