Worksheet Style 51: Execute SQL command

Hi everyone,

I am aware that it is not advisable to delete items in RMS, however I need to delete items that do not have history or any movement. We never used these items (no sales transactions, never included in purchase orders, not involved in any transfer - in short they are junk) and won't use it in the future.

I have read that it is possible to delete from HQ then propagate to stores using Worksheet Style 51: Execute SQL command. https://community.dynamics.com/rms/f/106/t/48735.aspx

I have 327,907 junk items to delete. How can I accomplish this using Worksheet Style 51: Execute SQL command.

Thank you,

Koymackoy

Initially this could be done, but a lot of checks should be done in the beginning like making sure that those items don't have any history, making sure that the items to be deleted in HQ are the same items to be deleted in stores, all items are standards items or else additional tables will be considered.

My recommendation is that you don't do the job by yourself, better look for a database expert to make sure of the database integrity and consistency all the way through

I encountered this problem a while ago but in different situation. The item was deleted in headquarters but exist in store, so that, after generating reports, there came data inconsistency.  As mentioned above by Hassan, make sure that these items were not used. Kindly check affecting tables before deleting an item. If you are 100% sure that these items were not used, you can issue worksheet51 which executes sql command to delete these items in stores. I cant enumerate all  the tables affected now because i left my laptop in office but as for now, some tables affected are these:

    Item

    ItemDynamic

    InventoryTransferLog

    PurchaseOrderEntry

    TransactionEntry

    and etc..

My advise is to find a database expert to do the job because this is very complicated. I'm not an expert but i'll try my best to do it for you. Anyways, if you have any questions regarding rms synchronization or Data inconsistency, just let me know. Thanks. Here's my email address for you to contact me. archelle.pagapulan@outlook.com.

PS: I am not selling my service. It's free. Experience is enough as a .NET Programmer. Tnx.

Best solution is to make all unneeded items " Inactive ".

it`s better than going into complicated and dangerouse Database proccesses.
