Match incoming email to custom entity

Hello,

I have a scenario where I want incoming email to match "From" address against custom entity email field.

From what I can tell that is not possible as it will only match on contact and account. 

Has anyone accomplished this using a custom method? Looking for other recommendations.

    Hi Tom,

    I am not sure are you looking for custom Workflow. I have created a custom workflow some thing similar to match against custom field in Account Entity. The workflow will get the 'from address' of email and compare the field in the Account,  In the workflow step if both match then true else false.

    Justin,

    I have a custom entity. It has an email address field. When and email comes into email queue I want it to match on that custom entity email.  At first I thought that was not possible out of the box. But  after second verification I believe it is matching correctly.   I thought matches were only against contact, account, lead.    A custom workflow to handle the matching was my alternative.
