Management Reporter 2012 - Can't Deploy Database

I got Management Reporter 2012 installed on my GP SQL server and I am trying to configure it and it fails and in the log I get an error 'the database deployment failed'.  There is also another error before this one that says 'The physical file name '\ManagementReporter.mdf' may be incorrect.'  This is MR 2012 that just recently came out that includes service pack 1.  I can't figure out what the problem is.  Anyone else seen this before?

Thanks
Jennifer

    Jennifer,

Installing at the root of the drive was the issue.  Thanks for the fix.

Thanks for the reply Cory.  I got it working now.  The fix was to not have the database installed to the root of a drive.  I have my SQL to install to the root of a drive (not the C drive).  So, I changed that and got MR installed.  Personally I prefer to have all my databases located together so I don't like that MR has to be in a folder.  But, I guess that is just the way it works.

    Thanks

    Jennifer

    Hello Jennifer,

Usually this issue occurs if you try to deploy the integration when you are logged into the configuration console as a user that is not an MR Administrator.  If you look in SQL at the SecurityPrincipal table it will show you the only domain user that has been entered into the system.  That is the user that needs to be logged into the console to deploy the GP integration.

I also have seen similar errors in the 2.0 version of MR where the default directory for a database was set to the root of C:.  Open SQL and look at the server properties and click database settings.  At the bottom you should see database default locations.  If it shows the root of a drive you will need to update that to a location that goes into at least one folder level.

    Give this a try.
