Microsoft Dynamics GP (Archived)

GP 9 SP; No DB upgrade prompt.

Posted on by 140

I am planning the upgrade from GP 9 to 2010. I have installed the service pack KB971017. When I logon to Utilities as SA or DYNSA, I am not being prompted to upgrade the database even though GP is telling me I need to launch Utilities to do so. I have tried the "4 resolutions" to "no db upgrade prompting" from MS to no avail. Any ideas?

You need to install the Server option on the SQL server first.  When that is done, and the utilities window comes up, close it out.  Then run your service pack.  When the service pack is done, run DynUtils and you will update the databases.  I just went thru this myself.
