How to make Notes inherit permissions from their parent account/contact (Regarding)?

Our users have Business Unit Read access level on Notes and User access level on Accounts and Contacts. When somebody adds a note to his account, this note can be seen by anybody. Is there some approach to inherit the access level for notes from the parent Account/Contact entity?

We cannot set the access level for Notes to User, because we have other entities, where notes should be read by all users. We just want to restrict the access to notes on Accounts/Contacts.

    Hi,

The issue of limiting access to contact notes in Account/Contact without changing your security role is directly supported, but we have other alternatives

    Here is our test procedure

We can modify the way the various parts of the Timeline inside the form in the entity are displayed. As shown below, we can hide some components, such as Header, Body, Footer, so that we can't see the created Note

In addition, the Note created by a user A cannot be changed by the user (unless the user has high privileges such as system administrator, etc.). If user A wants to view his Note, he can click the Edit button.

I hope my answer is helpful to you! If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me.

    Best Regards,

    Rudy Zhang

    Hi Kiril,

It is not possible to make notes inherit permissions from their parent account or contact records. You will need to use Security role privileges to control access to notes.

I know you said that you cannot set the access level for notes to user, because you have other entities for which notes should be read by all users, but I think you should seriously consider changing the security role access for the notes entity to read user owned. Instead of having notes that can be read by all users, store this information in fields.
