Clearing Expected Cost

Hello, 
 
What is the most effective way to clear old "Expected Cost" that will never clear? I have old purchase receipts in which we no longer have inventory for that were never invoiced. Any ideas are welcomed.

    You need to invoice the receipt, if for some reason you don't need to pay for this item, you can invoice with a unit cost of 0. When the item is invoiced, the system reverses the expected cost and posts the actual cost from the invoice. Otherwise, your only other option is to undo the receipt, but since you don't have these items in inventory anymore, this is not possible.

    @Valentin Castravet Thank you so much for this suggestion, but will posting the purchase invoice at zero cost affect my unit cost since we are on average costing method?

    Yes, it will affect the cost.
    The method with the least impact on cost is Undo, but your inventory no longer exists and the accounting period may have been closed, using Valentin's method is the only way.
    You can use Item Revaluation Journals to adjust costs after you post an invoice.
