Does the Office 365 WS-Trust Authentication Deprecation will impact on Power Automate Microsoft Dataverse connector?

The Office365 authentication type has been deprecated for connecting to Microsoft Dataverse. The applications(web and windows) that have been using this type of authentication stopped working due to a ws-trust error. There is no impact seen on the workflow and plugins. But wondering if this would impact the Power Automate Microsoft Dataverse connector.

Microsoft is saying to use OAuth instead of Office365 as an Authentication type which requires a Client Id and Secret. Microsoft Dataverse connector provides options to connect using either named user credentials (using username and password) or by using Service Principle (using client id and secret)

So the question is should we start using the service principle option moving forward to avoid future connection issues?

Should we not use User credentials in Power Automate for connecting to Microsoft Dataverse?

I have the same question (0)

    Hello,

    this deprecation is not linked to the connectors of Power Automate. Also, you can always use the WS-Trust with a username/password.

    Example of an OAuth based connection string with username/Password:

    connectionString = "AuthType=OAuth;Username=jsmith@contoso.onmicrosoft.com; Password=passcode;Url=contosotest.crm.dynamics.com;AppId=51f81489-12ee-4a9e-aaae-a2591f45987d; RedirectUri=app://58145B91-0C36-4500-8554-080854F2AC97;LoginPrompt=Auto"

    Thanks, Mehdi.  This helps me to clear my doubts.

    However, this connection string does not work with Multi-factor authentication-enabled environment.
