Exchange rate in Project accounting

Hi,

My accounting currency is USD.

I created a PO in project accounting in Canadian dollar in the amount of CAD1,000 dated Aug 10, 2020.

The last exchange rate in the setup USD-CAD is 95.23809 dated Feb 2020, so I'm expecting that the total amount in USD is USD952.38 which can be viewed if you click Totals in PO.

But when I click Project budget status in PO>>Line details>>Financials>>Project budget status, the system uses different exchange rate which is the old exchange rate dated Dec 2013.

The system also updated the Remaining budget based on the old exchange rate which is wrong.

Pls see attached screenshot that shows the discrepancies.

Is this a bug or is there an explanation for this?

    Hi Mary,

    What default exchange rate type you used under the GL > Setup > Ledger screen?

    I can see your budget year is 2019 so did you check exchange rate of 2019?

    Secondly Did you check any hotfix on LCS on the same issue? There used to be so many foreign currency budget related issues earlier in AX 2012 version.

    What budget exchange rate type is setup in the ledger form in GL?

    Also, what's the Ax2012 version that you operate?

    If you run an older AX2012 version, I would recommend having a look at LCS (requires login)

    I'm using the default exchange rate type.

    There are only 2 setup of exchange rate in default exchange rate type.

    AX version is AX2012 R3 Kernel version 6.3.6000.151 and application version 6.3.6000.149.

    Hello marypeace,

    You are on Cu13, which is not the very latest version but I have not found anything on LCS that indicates that there is a bug related to your system version.

    Can you thus share a screenprint of your ledger form and what you see in the budget form?

    I am not sure absolutely sure what has been setup there.

    I'm not using budgeting module.

    I'm only using project budgeting.

    I tried replicating the issue on my demo machine and got a similar interesting outcome.

    Seems to be a bug in my opinion.

    Do you have a developer who could take a look at this issue and/or can you contact the MS support?

    Hi Ludwig,

    Yes I believe it is a bug because when I tried it in different environment, it's working fine which uses the exchange rate that is setup in the table.

    The AX version that I use this time is AX2012 R3 with kernel versions and application versions 6.3.5000.138.

    Can you log a support case or get into contact with somebody from your technical / development team.

    They should be able to help you with that.

    On LCS I could not find something that seems to fit to your system version; so, seems to be indeed a bug.
