Exporting and Importing KB Articles

Hi

Currently, we have a LIVE system we use where we want to export 1000 KB articles from.

We also have a customer facing portal which uses a seperate CRM database.

We want to import these 1000 articles into the Portal CRM.

What we have done so far:

Exported Subjects from 'LIVE'

Imported Subjects into 'Portal'

Exported Articles from 'LIVE'

When we try and import articles into the Portal CRM we get error messages:

'Duplicate look-up reference found' on the Subject field.

How can I get around this? Have I mapped the fields wrong? If you need more information, please ask.

Regards

Jay

Only way to import those subject is to remove existing subjects with same names from the 'FilteredSubject table'

    Hi

I'm still having this issue on a different system.

We tried to Import subject but they failed, when we corrected the data and tried to import again we received the message 'Duplicate look-up reference found' on the Subject field.

I have looked at the subject tree and the subjects I want to import are not there. If I query the FilteredSubject table, the Subjects are all listed there but not visible in the interface!

This means that in the CRM system you are importing into, there are two subjects that have the same name. The Import cannot establish which one you want to associate the article with because the lookup by name returns two or more records.

In CRM go to your subject tree and carefully check for any subjects with the same name. They may be at different levels.

    Hi

I've had a look and the subjects definitely only appear once.

You may have more than one same subject in the portal, go to port settings and subject just verify if you have same records twice.

if yes, deletem them and try again
