management reporter

Posted on by 860

I have just installed Management reporter for a new customer.  When I try and cofigure the company and push the settings button, nothing happens.  How can I get the Settings button to work.

Thanks,

Amy

I was able to resolve this issue after some investigation and playing.

There were two issues with the install on Windows 2008 R2 64 bit server. First the Data Provider did not run both of the installs that were included with this update. I had to manually run the install for MRProviderGP_x64.msi.

The second item I found was a missing connection string for the client site. I had to navigate to the directory C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics ERP\Management Reporter\2.0\Client and edit the file ReportDesigner.exe.config and add the connection string. Once this was accomplished the company was available for selection in the report designer.

I hope this resolution helps others with this issue.

    Thank you,

    Greg

I have this installed on an Oracle VM VirtualBox image. The image is running Windows 2008 R2 64 bit OS with SQL 2008 and Dynamics GP 2010.

I have tried setting the Enable 32 bit application both true and false without affect. I restarted the service and also restarted the OS in an attempt to resolve this issue.

I found an article where an individual set the IIS service to run under the administrator account and that has proved fruitless in my efforts to resolve this issue. Any other ideas?

    Thank you again in advance.

    Thank you,

    Greg

can you provide additional information like, on which server you install, what OS (32 or 64 bit) etc

if you have it installed on a 64 bit then make sure you log on to IIS on the application pool for MR click on advanced settings and on the option "Enable 32 bit application set it as false, then recycle IIS and try again
