Hi Guys,

May I know what setups are required to get fixed sales tax amount irrespective of number of items in the sales order in AX 2012 R3?

I am aware about how sales tax works in AX ( Sales tax code, sales tax group, item sales tax group) but not sure on the above setup.

Please help.

Regards

    Hi Abhijeet Hele,

Unfortunately, I do not have a documentation on that and don't know a website that has. The thing with this special tax is that we get an invoice that includes this tax. To get it correctly posted, we select the ledger account that has been setup for this tax directly - ... yes we directly post on that ledger account :-) - and in the tax code field select the code. If we then enter the sales tax amount in the debit field, we get the tax posted as we require it here in Europe. Not sure if this is somewhere used outside of Europe.

    Hope this helps.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Ludwig,

I am trying get more information on the underlying transaction. I will share it across to you once I get it.

Meanwhile may I know more about incoming tax? If any link you can share for it.

    Thank you.

    Hello Abhijeet Hele,

Do you talk about incoming or outgoing invoices?

I am asking because in Europe we have a special kind of incoming tax that we directly post against the tax code.

    Maybe your case is similar?

Do you have any additional information on the underlying transaction and why this is required?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Ludwig,

    Thank you for your response.

What I want here is fixed tax amount for a particular customer irrespective of total or net amount in the order?

This is the kind of requirement I got from the customer so not sure if it is correct because I am also aware about sales tax calculation based upon net amount.

    Please suggest.

    Regards

    Hello Abhijeet Hele,

The sales tax is calculated as a percentage of the total or net amount and it does not depend on the quantities.

What kind of tax do you want to apply and post?

Is this really a sales tax or just a fixed fee?

Would be great if you could provide some additional information and possibly a simplified example.

    Many thanks and best regards,

    Ludwig
